Cavite occupies land area of 142,706 hectares which is approximately 2.74% of the regional land area and 0.42% of the total land area of the Philippines. The land area of the province is classified as follows: 5.9% (7,833 hectares) public forests 90.07% (119,280 hectares) alienable and disposable; and 4.02% (5,320 hectares) unclassified forest land. It has three distinct physiological features: the lowlands, rolling undulating transition lands, and the rugged uplands of the Dos Picos mountains.*
